TREATMENTS & DIAGNOSTICS
With the recent expansion of the Spire South Bank Hospital Imaging Centre, Dr Udeshi is now able to offer a fully in-house service providing a comprehensive range of scans and tests to examine any part of the body, inside and out. The new department features a CT (computerised tomography) scanner; a state-of-the-art, 160 slice, scanner installed in February 2014. The scanner is able to perform various general examinations including chest, abdomen, pelvis, head, heart and spinal scans. The in-house MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scanner assists with the diagnosis and monitoring of many different medical conditions in every part of the body, including bones, soft tissues and the brain.
At the Cobalt Imaging Centre in Cheltenham, the High Field Open MRI offers a more comfortable experience for those who require more room or suffer from claustrophobia offering exceptional comfort with three times the space of a cylindrical MRI. In addition, there are two 3.0 Tesla MRI Scanners in full time clinical use for patients. With a shorter bore and flared open ends it offers exceptional comfort and greatly reduces anxiety or claustrophobia. A 3.0 Tesla MRI scan can also be quicker than scans carried out at 1.5 Tesla.
